WATCH: Baez crushes RBI triple for his 200th career extra-base hit

by - Senior Writer -

With his 200th career extra-base hit, Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez avenged comrade Anthony Rizzo. In the bottom of the sixth against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday, Rizzo was hit by a pitch with two outs. Baez then stepped up to the plate and made Rizzo's pain worthwhile by cranking an RBI triple that hit off the wall in right-center.

Rizzo scored standing up on the 3-bagger, and Baez slid into third without facing any threat of being tagged out. Even after ogling what he might have thought to be a home run off the bat, "El Mago" hustled around the bases en route to accruing his first triple of the season. Baez's 200th career extra-base ended a scoreless stretch for both teams and put the Cubs ahead 1-0.
