Baseball America released its projected 2021 lineup for the Chicago Cubs on Monday, and it was an exciting look to forecast what the team could look like four years from now.

PROJECTED 2021 LINEUP

(Listed with 2021 season age)

C Willson Contreras (29)

1B Anthony Rizzo (31)

2B Javier Baez (28)

3B Kris Bryant (29)

SS Addison Russell (27)

LF Kyle Schwarber (28)

CF Albert Almora (27)

RF Ian Happ (26)

SP Jose Quintana (32)

SP Jon Lester (37)

SP Kyle Hendricks (31)

SP Adbert Alzolay (26)

SP Mike Montgomery (31)

CL Carl Edwards (29)

This is a pretty amazing lineup for the Cubs because it shows the continuity that the team can build with their positional players moving forward in the next few years. There is so much talent if the lineup can cut down on the strikeouts because we know these Cubs players can hit the longball.

On the pitching side of things, Adbert Alzolay is slotted in the starting rotation and it appears to be a big part of the Cubs future. In 2017, he was 7-4 with a 2.99 ERA, 1.19 WHIP in 114 innings at Double-A.
