ESPN says Bears "best fit" for defensive end Jonathan Greenard

In his latest article released on Tuesday, ESPN's Matt Bowen offered insights into potential landing spots for top free agents this offseason.

Houston Texans edge rusher Jonathan Greenard would fit in nicely with the Monsters of the Midway according to Bowen.

"General manager Ryan Poles made the trade last season to acquire defensive end Montez Sweat, which changed the Bears' defensive setup," he wrote. Now Poles could add another edge defender in Greenard, who is explosive off the ball and makes plays late in the down with his fantastic effort level. Last season, Greenard had 12.5 sacks and a pass rush win rate of 22%, the sixth best in the league. And his instincts show up as a run-defender, too."

Greenard delivered a standout performance in 2023, tallying a career-high 52 tackles and 12.5 sacks across 15 games.
