CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs are teaming up with women-owned lifestyle brand Alice & Wonder for a limited-edition merchandise collection that will go on sale at the Cubs Team Store Friday, July 18, as part of the lead-up to “Girls Night Out” which will take place this September. The Theme Game will include an exclusive Girls Night Out Special Ticket Offer item designed by Alice & Wonder and is inspired by the club’s longstanding tradition of Ladies Day at Wrigley Field.
“The Cubs have a rich history of celebrating and championing women in sports,” said Cubs Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications Jen Martindale. “From Margaret Donahue to the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League and sell-out crowds for Ladies Day, the Cubs have been at the forefront of this movement for decades. There’s a lot of fun in store, so we hope to see you all there.”
From T-shirts and tank tops to crewnecks and a specialty denim jacket, fans can shop the limited-edition merchandise collection at the Cubs Team Store starting Friday, July 18, at 9 a.m. CT, while supplies last. The collection also includes custom glassware and an Alice & Wonder Cubs pennant, among other items.
“Our brand is all about creating Chicago items that make locals want to represent the city in their daily wardrobe, so we’ve taken that same approach in designing this collection,” said Alice & Wonder owner Ali Reff. “These gameday pieces aren’t just meant for the ballpark – they’ll quickly become closet staples.”
Fans who shop the new merchandise collection can have their items personalized on a first-come, first-served basis before the Cubs game Friday, July 18. Local embroidery shop Vichcraft will host a pop-up located above the Cubs Team Store overlooking Gallagher Way, and a heat press station will also be available for fans to customize their hats before heading into the ballpark.
Those interested in attending Girls Night Out are encouraged to purchase the Girls Night Out Special Ticket Offer, which includes a ticket to the September 3 game and a special-edition Alice & Wonder Cubs tote bag. The exclusive item includes design elements inspired by the collection and is only available to those who purchase the Special Ticket Offer. Attendees will also have the chance to visit a variety of women-owned businesses at Gallagher Way. Additional details on what fans can expect for Girls Night Out will be shared later this summer.
The Cubs held their first Ladies Day at Wrigley Field over a century ago, and the promotion quickly became a standout success. During the first 20 years of Ladies Day events which started in 1918, the Cubs hosted over two million women at the Friendly Confines, bolstering the passion and presence of women interested in the sport.
