PHILADELPHIA — Going up 2-0 in the first inning and never relinquishing their lead thereafter, the Chicago Cubs improved to 8-2 in their last 10 contests by topping the Philadelphia Phillies 7-1 at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday.

With 11 hits in all, the Cubs experienced their fair share of success versus the Phillies' pitching staff. Ian Happ went yard for the 14th time this season, and, prior to that, Kyle Schwarber provided the Cubs with a four-run advantage on a two-run triple of the stand-up variety.
