Grimm agrees to contract with Cubs

The Cubs and reliever Justin Grimm avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract worth $1.825 million on Friday according to multiple reports.

In 2016, Grimm had 4.10 ERA with 65 strikeouts and 1.33 WHIP. For his career, he has 4.54 ERA with three saves, 291 strikeouts, and 1.38 WHIP.

He was a fifth-round draft pick by Texas in the 2010 MLB Draft.
