Bears announce several roster moves

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Bears announced on Tuesday that running back Tarik Cohen has been placed on the injured reserve list and in a corresponding move have promoted rookie running back Artavis Pierce to the 53-man roster.

Cohen torn his ACL in his right knee and will be placed on the season-ending IR list.

"So that will be a big blow to us there with that, which is unfortunate," Bears head coach Matt Nagy said recently to the media. "So proud of that kid, and he's been really growing."

Cohen suffered in the knee injury on a punt return when an opponent got pushed into his right leg.

For the season, Cohen had two rushes for 21 yards and three catches for 20 yards.

Pierce is an undrafted free agent out of Oregon State where he rushed for 2,127 yards on 15 touchdowns.

In addition to those two moves, the Bears signed linebacker Sharif Finch and defensive lineman Terry Beckner to the practice squad for more defensive depth.
