The Chicago Bears announced on Tuesday that they have announced defensive tackle Justin Jones as their Walter Payton Man of the Award nominee.

"Jones is a standout and dedicated community leader," the Bears said in a press release. "Throughout the year, he consistently supports Bears community programs, takes the initiative to organize community appearances, and encourages teammates to participate. From coordinating visits to the Allendale Association, a non-profit organization benefiting youth facing behavioral health challenges, to actively participating in the Youth Guidance Program, Jones consistently uses his platform to uplift and guide troubled young individuals towards a better, more hopeful future."

Ryan Poles knows that this award means a lot in Chicago.

"This award probably means more to this club than any other club in the National Football League," Poles said. "For what Walter Payton stood for as a Chicago Bear, we're looking for guys that have those same characteristics in how they're changing the community, especially here in Chicago.

"Justin Jones is a guy that has been out in the community a lot. From supporting women's flag football to being a mentor to young men in the city of Chicago, he's done a fantastic job of making an impact in this city."
