Bears cut two players including Velus Jones Jr. |
The Chicago Bears announced on Friday that they have released fullback Khari Blasingame and waived receiver Velus Jones Jr.
The moves will become official on Saturday. Jones was a former third-round pick in 2022 by the Bears. He has been a healthy scratch since Week 2. During his time with the Bears, he has caught 12 passes for 135 yards and a touchdown. He also had 1,042 return yards on 39 kick returns. Veteran special-teamer DeAndre Carter has played well this season and has minimized the need for Jones. Blasingame was likely cut because there wasn't a huge role for a fullback in Shane Waldron's Bears offense. More to come on this breaking news story.
