Bears injury update: Defense getting healthy

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Bears are getting healthier and healthier as they prepare for Sunday's rivalry game against the Green Bay Packers.

Veteran defenders Eddie Jackson (ankle), DeMarcus Walker (calf) and Jaquan Brisker (groin) all worked out on Friday and went through the entire practice.

They were not on the injury designation list.

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus believes that Brisker will be ready to go in game one despite not playing at all in the preseason.

"He'll do a great job with that," Eberflus said. "He's got the year under his belt, which is great, and him and Eddie have a great relationship in terms of their communication and how they operate. Those guys have been in all the walkthroughs, which is awesome, throughout the whole time they've missed through training camp. They've looked great the last few days, so I don't really have an issue with either one."

The Packers will be missing one of their playmakers as receiver Christian Watson has been ruled out of the game with an injury.

Another receiver Romeo Doubs is questionable for tomorrow's game with a hamstring injury.

"Everything is progressing the way I'm supposed to do and everything that I'm supposed to do and I'm executing it the right way," said Doubs on Thursday via Packers.com. "However, this is a day-to-day thing."

The Bears and the Packers will face off at 3:25 p.m. CT on Sunday from Soldier Field.
