by - Senior Editor -

Bears legend Steve McMichael has been named as one of 12 semifinalists in the Seniors category for the 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame on Thursday.

'Mongo' is now down to a group of 12 players left to be voted on.

The next round of voting will begin on August 22, where the committee will decide which three players will be in final consideration for the Hall of Fame.

“It means everything to us,” said his wife Misty to WGN of her husband being a potential Hall of Famer. “Everybody knows, especially in the NFL world, that he deserves it, that his stats have always been there.”

McMichael had 95 sacks, 13 forced fumbles, 17 fumble recoveries, three safeties, and 847 combined tackles in his 15 years in the NFL.

Best of luck to McMichaels and his entire family, as everyone at ChicagoBearsHQ is cheering you on and hopeful that you will get your day as a Hall of Famer.
