Chicago Bears fans have reason to be excited as the team's beloved mascot, Staley Da Bear, has been nominated for the 2023 Mascot Hall of Fame.

This prestigious honor recognizes the best mascots from around the world and the contributions they make to the world of sports and entertainment.

Staley Da Bear is one of 18 nominees for this year's induction, and he faces stiff competition from some of the NFL's most iconic mascots, including Blitz, Freddie Falcon, Jaxson de Ville, Miles, and Toro.

Other nominees include Bailey from the Los Angeles Kings, Cozmo from the LA Galaxy, Punter from the Edmonton Elks, and Wally the Green Monster from the Boston Red Sox.

There are also several collegiate mascots on the list, such as Buzz from Georgia Tech, Goldy Gopher from the University of Minnesota, Otto the Orange from Syracuse, Rameses from North Carolina, The Bearcat from Cincinnati, and The Blue Devil from Duke.

If Staley Da Bear is inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame, he would be the fourth Chicago mascot to receive this honor. Previous inductees include Tommy Hawk, Southpaw, and Benny the Bull.

Southpaw was just inducted in 2022, and Tommy Hawk and Benny the Bull were inducted together in 2017.

Fans can begin voting for their favorite mascots on May 14, and the winners will be announced later this year.

Whether or not Staley Da Bear is inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame, he will always be a cherished member of the Chicago Bears family and a symbol of the team's spirit and dedication to its fans.
