NFL Network mock draft has Bears picking star running back Bijan Robinson |
As the 2023 NFL Draft approaches, the Chicago Bears have a tough decision to make with their No. 9 overall pick.
While most of the talk has centered around the need for offensive and defensive linemen, NFL Network's latest mock draft has the Bears going in a different direction entirely, with the selection of running back Bijan Robinson. “I don't blame teams avoiding running backs in the top 10 because of how many injuries occur at the positionー but the Bears could make an exception for Robinson,” NFL Network's Chad Reuter wrote. “His combination of power, speed, shiftiness and receiving ability make him a potential star in the Christian McCaffrey mold. Signing D'Onta Foreman does not take the Bears out of the running for this all-around offensive threat.” In 2022 as a junior, Robinson rushed 258 times for 1,580 yards (6.1 ypc) with 18 touchdowns. Of course, with the draft still weeks away, it remains to be seen whether the Bears will ultimately select him or go in a different direction. Regardless of their choice, the No. 9 pick is a valuable opportunity for the Bears to add young talent to their roster and continue building for the future.
