The Chicago Bears have had several conversations with Boise State defensive lineman Scott Matlock in the last few weeks, according to reporter Daniel Greenberg.

Matlock, originally from Homedale, Idaho, attended Homedale High School, where he was rated as a two-star prospect by 247Sports. He then went on to play at Boise State University, where he redshirted his first year.

Matlock's redshirt sophomore season saw him start in all seven games, totaling twenty-two tackles and two sacks.

His redshirt junior season was named to the 2021 All-Mountain West second-team as he started in all twelve games, totaling forty-one tackles, seven sacks, and one forced fumble.

During his redshirt senior season, he started in all thirteen games, totaling forty-eight tackles and 2.5 sacks and was named once again to the All-Mountain West second-team squad.

Matlock's impressive stats and achievements at Boise State University make him an attractive prospect for the Bears and could be someone they take a shot on during the 2023 NFL Draft.
