Report: Bears OL Teven Jenkins suffers leg injury

This is not good news for an offensive line trying to gel before the season.

Chicago Bears offensive guard Teven Jenkins has suffered a leg injury (strained calf x 2), according to multiple reports on Monday.

The Bears have not confirmed the injury yet but he is reportedly expected to miss the start of the regular season.

Jenkins sat out Saturday's game with the Colts but was part of the joint practices last week.

He has played in 19 games, including 13 starts. In 2022, he missed four games, including being carted off the field in December with a neck injury.

Alex Leatherwood is currently listed as the backup left guard on the team's roster but Ja'Tyre Carter likely has the inside track for the spot start or two.

The Bears will kick off the season against the rival Packers on Sept. 10.

Update: "It is a week-to-week issue. It is bigger than a day-to-day. That is all we're going to disclose."
