by - Senior Writer -

DETROIT — Mounting a furious comeback in the fourth quarter, the Chicago Bears (1-0) pulled off an impressive come-from-behind victory at Ford Field to begin the 2020 NFL season. The Bears defeated the rival Detroit Lions (0-1) 27-23 in the Week 1 matchup after trailing by 17 points at the start of the fourth quarter.

Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was 20-of-36 for 242 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions through the air. All three of his touchdown passes came in the fourth quarter. A pivotal interception by defensive back Kyle Fuller in Lions territory culminated in a go-ahead touchdown for the Bears with 1:54 remaining. Trubisky connected with wide receiver Anthony Miller near the sideline for a 27-yard touchdown grab that essentially provided Chicago with a season-opening victory.
