
It’s official: Bears lock In full second-round haul from 2025 NFL Draft |
The Chicago Bears on Saturday signed all three of the club's second-round selections from the 2025 NFL Draft – wide receiver Luther Burden III, offensive lineman Ozzy Trapilo and defensive lineman Shemar Turner.
Burden (selected No. 39 overall) earned First-Team All-Southeastern Conference recognition following each of his final two seasons at the University of Missouri (2023 and 2024). Over three seasons of action at Missouri (2022-24), Burden started 34-of-38 career games played, totaling 192 receptions for 2,263 yards (11.8 avg.) and 21 touchdowns, adding a 61-yard rushing touchdown in 2024 and a 78-yard punt return touchdown as a true freshman in 2022. In 2024, Burden led the Tigers with 676 yards on 71 catches, one season after tallying 1,212 receiving yards, third-most by any SEC player, on 86 receptions, second-most by any pass-catcher in the conference, earning AP Second-Team All-America honors (2023). A native of St. Louis, Mo., Burden culminated his tenure at Missouri with a 34-game streak of outings with at least one reception, the second-longest stretch by any player in program history. Trapilo (selected No. 56 overall) started 36-of-44 career games played over four seasons of action at Boston College (2021-24), starting every appearance for the Eagles over the last three years (34 games). In 2024, Trapilo, a team captain, earned First-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors after starting all 12 games at right tackle. Trapilo was named ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week following the Eagles' 420-yard output of offense against North Carolina in 2024. The Norwell, Mass., native added second-team all-conference honors as a redshirt junior in 2023, also starting all 12 games at right tackle for Boston College. Turner (selected No. 62 overall) started 35-of-43 career games played at Texas A&M (2021-24), earning Second-Team All-Southeastern Conference honors following the 2023 season. Having started every game played along the defensive front for the Aggies over the last three years, Turner totaled 115 tackles, including 22.5 tackles for loss and 10.0 sacks, with three forced fumbles and one pass defensed. A native of Dallas, Texas, Turner finished his junior season (2023) with the third-most tackles for loss (10.5) and the second-most sacks (6.0) among all Aggie defenders.
