I definitely think Hoerner should be on the opening roster now a do not see a need for Sogard and also Vargas should also be on the roster sooner or later agreed with Strop being optioned but believe Shelby Miller could be on roster and Maybein not needed at this time and what about Dillion Maples?

Likely it will be a Bote/Sogard 2B platoon early on.

Hoerner has 36 games at Triple-A Iowa in 2021 and then the Cubs will have an extra year of control through the 2026 season.

Dillon Maples is still on the roster of 31 spring players and Shelby Miller will be one of the first call-ups when there is a pitching need as a starter/long-man, etc.

I think he will be back soon. Just wanted to give some more at-bats...

Hoerner has only logged 375 plate appearances in his Minor League career, which has yet to include any time with Triple-A Iowa. For comparison, Kyle Schwarber and Kris Bryant had 621 and 773 PAs in the Minors, respectively, before breaking into the Majors.
