The Chicago Cubs have officially punched their ticket to the postseason — their first playoff appearance since 2020 and first in a full 162-game season since 2018.
The Cubs won 8-4 against the Pirates on Wednesday afternoon, which was the 88th win of the season. If the current standings hold, the Cubs will host the San Diego Padres at Wrigley Field in a best-of-three Wild Card series.
