Cubs trade veteran reliever Andrew Kittredge to Orioles |
Going back to a familiar home.
The Chicago Cubs have traded veteran reliever Andrew Kittredge back to the Orioles for cash considerations. The Orioles will likely pick up his $9 million team option for the 2026 season. Probably a smart move for the Cubs to save money, as he will be 36 years old in March, and they can pick up another reliever to replace him for 2026. He had a 4-3 record with a 3.44 ERA, 64 strikeouts, and an impressive 0.98 WHIP. My favorite part of the Andrew Kittredge era was when he recorded the save to clinch the first playoff series win for the Chicago Cubs since 2017.
