WATCH: Marcus Stroman with defensive gem against Brewers

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Marcus Stroman is known to be a standout pitcher with the ability to play gold-glove caliber defense on the mound.

During Opening Day on Thursday, Stroman showed off his fielding prowess by making a nifty play in the second inning against the Brew Crew.

Stroman's defensive abilities are so impressive that he has been nominated for a Gold Glove Award three times in his career. In fact, he won the award in 2017 while playing for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Stroman's athleticism and quick reflexes allow him to make plays that many other pitchers would not even attempt. He is known for his ability to field bunts, throw runners out at the plate, and make diving catches on pop-ups.
