Start’em or Sit’em in Fantasy Football: Bears v. Eagles

CHICAGO - After the trio of games on Thanksgiving, you may need some breakout performances from the Chicago Bears on Black Friday against the Philadelphia Eagles (2 p.m. CT/ Amazon Prime).

Caleb Williams - Start

If you watched the Philadelphia Eagles against the Green Bay Packers or Detroit Lions, you may be hesitant to put quarterback Caleb Williams in your starting lineup for this matchup. However, the Eagles were not as tough an opponent in their last game against the Dallas Cowboys, where they allowed Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott to throw for 354 yards and two touchdowns. While Williams has yet to put up over 300 passing yards in a game, he has had multiple games with multiple touchdowns. Also, the Eagles have given up four rushing touchdowns to quarterbacks, the third-most in the NFL. Therefore, there is a lot of upside for Williams in this game, and he should be in your starting lineup.

Rome Odunze - Start

Odunze’s fantasy production has not been the same since coming off the bye week. However, he is still getting the targets. Despite only having three catches in Chicago’s victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Odunze was targeted nine times, the most of anyone on the team. Philadelphia also happens to be in the middle of the pack in giving up fantasy points to wide receivers, so this is not a terrible matchup for Odunze. Thus, he should be in your starting lineup this week.

D.J. Moore - Sit

Last week, wide receiver D.J. Moore had his best game of the season with five receptions for 64 yards and two touchdowns. However, Odunze was targeted more than Moore. More importantly, Moore has not had a week like that the entire season. In fact, he had only one touchdown before the Steelers game. He may look like a good option given his performance last week. However, that is simply a mirage, and Moore should stay on the bench against Philadelphia.

D’Andre Swift - Sit

Again, this is not a terrible matchup for his position. The Eagles are in the middle of the pack in allowing fantasy points to running backs. However, D’Andre Swift has a Kyle Monangai problem. Monangai has 12 attempts and a touchdown in each of the past two games. He was also on the field for nearly 54 percent of Chicago’s offensive snaps last week against the Steelers. Swift should stay on the bench, possibly for the remainder of the season.

Kyle Monangai - Start in Deep Leagues

If you are in a deep league with a lack of depth at running back, Monangai is a good option. He has a touchdown in each of the past two games, which is not surprising given he is getting all the carries when Chicago gets in the red zone. Monangai’s fantasy stock is on the rise, and if you need a running back with touchdown upside, Monangai is your guy this week.

Colston Loveland - Sit

Rookie tight end Colston Loveland has been on a tear in the month of November. In Chicago’s first four games in November, Loveland has recorded 17 receptions for 262 yards and three touchdowns. However, Philadelphia’s defense has been stellar at shutting down tight ends. In fact, they allow the second-fewest points to opposing tight ends. Keep Loveland on the bench to put back into the lineup later in the season, but he should be on the bench for this matchup.
