Bears add two defenders from practice squad to active roster, Jackson out with injury

Tony Crumpton Tony Crumpton - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Bears announced on Saturday that they have downgraded veteran safety Eddie Jackson to out for Sunday's road matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jackson has been dealing with a foot injury that he suffered last week against the Bucs.

To shore up their depth, the team has added safety AJ Thomas and defensive lineman Daniel Hardy from the practice squad to the active roster.

Thomas was an undrafted free agent last year for the Bears out of Western Michigan.

Hardy was a seventh-round pick by the Rams in 2022 out of Montana.

In more roster news, linebacker Khalid Kareem was placed on injured reserve with a hip injury.
