The Chicago Bears have invited Dubuque wide receiver Todd Simmons Jr. to their rookie minicamp, according to his announcement on Instagram.

Simmons Jr. is a transfer from Wagner and has caught 36 passes for 483 yards and three touchdowns in just seven games last season.

He had a total of 68 receptions, 901 yards, and 8 touchdowns in the last two seasons.

He has been training with former NFL wide receiver Torrey Smith, and recently had a workout with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL.

Simmons Jr.'s recent accomplishments include being timed at a max speed of 23.42 miles per hour, and having a 10-yard split time in the 97th percentile at 1.50.

He is an explosive receiver with fast feet and the ability to easily separate from defenders, as well as high point the ball.

Simmons Jr. also appeared in this year's FCS bowl and has shown serious athleticism and explosiveness, making him a potential steal for the Bears.
