Bears News: Kyle Long placed on IR with injury |
The Chicago Bears placed veteran right guard
Kyle Long on the injured reserve with his hip injury. In a corresponding move, the Bears added defensive lineman Adbullah Anderson from the practice squad to take his roster spot.
Long will not return from his IR stint according to head coach Matt Nagy. “It’s a tough situation just because of what he’s been going through and where he’s at,” he said. “That’s where it’s at right now. He’s always been really good to us and what he’s done. We just felt like that was where he’s at right now and it’s what we wanted to do.” Nagy was impressed by Long during his time together. "Long poured his heart and soul into this organization and has worked really hard to be dominant in a lot of areas," Nagy said. "We appreciate that. I’ve only been with him for a year-and-a-half, but I appreciate the way that he’s gone about things." Long has missed 22 out of the last 48 games from 2016-2018. He was drafted in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Oregon.
