Bears News: Ryan Poles looking for veteran pass rushers

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Bears have been busy this offseason, making significant changes to their roster, particularly on the defensive side of the ball with the free agent additions of DeMarcus Walker and Rasheem Green.

Despite their efforts, the team still has a pressing need for more pass rushers, a position that General Manager Ryan Poles is actively addressing.

In an interview with 670 the Score's Bernstein and Holmes Show, Poles acknowledged the Bears' pursuit of additional help at edge rusher.

"We'll see, we'll see," Poles said. "We're working on it. We don't stop working and looking at different avenues to bring players in. There are some options, potentially trade options. There are also some guys on the street still that could potentially come in and help us.

"Maybe something will happen sooner rather than later."

Two intriguing names that have surfaced in trade rumors are Montez Sweat and Chase Young from the Washington Commanders. Washington's decision not to exercise Young's fifth-year option has fueled speculation that the team might be open to moving one of their talented edge rushers.

While it remains to be seen which path the Bears will take to acquire a pass rusher, the sense of urgency expressed by Poles suggests that Chicago's search for additional help is far from over.

Bears fans will be eagerly watching for updates, hoping to see their team secure the missing piece that can take their defense to the next level.
