Bears QB injured in warmups against Jets

by - Senior Editor -

This is not good news to report.

Trevor Siemian was to be the starting quarterback for today's game against the New York Jets.

However, he injured his oblique in warmups.

Now, with 45 minutes until the start of the contest, Nathan Peterman will be the QB1 today. He was just activated earlier in the week from the practice squad.

Peterman signed with the Bears on May 11 and has spent the first 11 weeks of the season on the practice team.

He has appeared in 10 NFL games, including four starts during his pro career.

Running back David Montgomery is now the backup quarterback since Justin Fields is inactive due to his left shoulder separation injury.

More to come on this breaking news story.

Bears vs. Jets coming up at noon CT at Metlife Stadium.
