Bears sign LSU linebacker Micah Baskerville to free agent deal |
Former LSU linebacker Micah Baskerville has signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Chicago Bears.
Baskerville was a key contributor to LSU's defense, helping the team win the SEC West title in 2022. Although he lacks top-notch measurements, Baskerville is an intelligent, fluid linebacker with good play speed and makes a ton of plays. As a five-year player at LSU, Baskerville combined for 260 tackles, 22.5 tackles for a loss, and 14 passes defended as a smart, savvy patroller over the middle of the field. He has an arm length of 31.375 inches, a hand size of 9.5 inches, a wingspan of 78.25 inches, a vertical jump of 35.5 inches, a broad jump of 9 feet, 7 inches, and a 40-yard dash time of 4.75 seconds. Baskerville was a 4-star high school prospect and Top 300 recruit. While he went undrafted, his signing with the Bears adds depth to their linebacker room, and he could be a special teams option to watch. As a locker room leader with great tape, he has the potential to make an impact in the NFL with hard work and dedication. The Path to NFLSU @Mikeyytb | @ChicagoBears pic.twitter.com/I2BrSStQre
