Roster Move: Bears sign free agent DL Rasheem Green |
The Chicago Bears are making moves to improve their defensive line this off-season.
On Thursday, the Chicago Bears announced that they have signed free-agent defensive lineman Rasheem Green to a one-year contract worth $2.5 million with 850K guaranteed, including a 350K signing bonus. Other incentives include up to 500K in game roster bonuses and 250K in playtime and sack totals. In 2022, he had 42 combined tackles, 3.5 sacks, 5 TFLs, and 8 QB hits in 16 games. During the 2021 season, he recorded 3.5 sacks while primarily playing at defensive end for the Texans. However, he also saw some snaps at defensive tackle over the last two games of the season, indicating that he has some versatility and can play multiple positions along the defensive line.
Green's experience and versatility will be a valuable addition to the Bears' defense, and he will likely compete for playing time at multiple positions.
