Report: Chiefs don't want to play Bears overseas

by - Senior Editor -

The Kansas City Chiefs have reportedly requested to back out of their overseas game with the Chicago Bears for the upcoming 2023 NFL season.

Although there have been multiple reports that the Bears will face the Chiefs in Germany this season, NBC Sports’ Peter King reported that the Chiefs asked the league to not have the game played overseas.

"When a team gives up one of its home games to play overseas, it has the option of requesting to the league one home game on its schedule the team does not want moved," King said. "I’m told Kansas City requested that the Chicago game not be played overseas."

It’s not surprising that the Chiefs would want to keep this game in Kansas City, given the draw of the Chicago fanbase.

It remains to be seen whether the league will honor the Chiefs’ request to keep the game in Kansas City or if they will still schedule the game overseas.

Regardless of where this game will be played, quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Justin Fields will make this a must-watch.
