Roster Move: Bears re-sign receiver Dante Pettis |
The Bears announced that they have re-signed wide receiver and return specialist Dante Pettis to a one-year contract on Monday.
This move comes after Pettis appeared in all 17 games for the Bears last season, catching 19 passes for 245 yards and three touchdowns, rushing for 37 yards on two carries, and averaging 9.1 yards on 18 punt returns. The 27-year-old has had stints with the 49ers and Giants before joining the Bears and has a total of 52 catches for 739 yards and nine touchdowns in his NFL career. The 6-1, 195-pounder was selected by San Francisco in the second round of the 2018 draft out of Washington, where he set an NCAA record with nine career punt return touchdowns. Not a bad move to re-sign Pettis to a new short-term deal as he has some clear upside and talent that could be unleashed this upcoming season.
