Talented WR prospect Jayden Reed reportedly visiting Bears

by - Senior Editor -

Michigan State receiver Jayden Reed, who originally grew up in Aurora, Illinois, will be visiting the Chicago Bears Tuesday, according to reports.

Reed had an impressive college career at Michigan State, finishing his time there ranked sixth in program history in receptions, 12th in receiving yards, and tied for seventh in touchdown catches while starting all 31 games he appeared in over the last three seasons.

Reed's strong performances at the Senior Bowl and NFL Scouting Combine helped improve his draft stock. He ran an impressive 4.45 in the 40-yard dash and recorded a 33 ½-inch vertical leap. At Michigan State's pro day, he posted 13 reps in the 225-pound bench press and caught passes from quarterback Payton Thorne during on-field drills.

He said that teams like his versatility as a receiver who can line up in the slot or outside, return punts and kickoffs, and contribute as a gunner.

NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah has high praise for Reed.

"He's quick, he can separate, he's got strength after the catch, he's tough. He's a really good blocker for being a guy that's not really big … but he is tough, and he gives you the return value as well."

For the Chicago Bears, who are looking to improve their passing game after a disappointing 2022 season, Reed could be an attractive option.

With his versatility and impressive physical abilities, he has the potential to make an immediate impact and provide the team with much-needed depth at the wide receiver position.

Only time will tell where Reed ultimately lands in the draft, but it's clear that he has the potential to be a valuable asset to whichever team selects him.
