by - Senior Writer -

DETROIT — For the first time in five seasons, the Chicago Bears (1-0) overcame a deficit of 10 or more points in the fourth quarter and won. Trailing by 17 at the start of the fourth quarter, the Bears mounted a furious comeback, outscoring the Detroit Lions (0-1) 21-0 in the final period of play at Ford Field en route to winning 27-23.

Chicago quarterback Mitchell Trubisky stepped up in a major way down the stretch, throwing touchdown passes to tight end Jimmy Graham and wide receivers Javon Wims and Anthony Miller. A pivotal interception by cornerback Kyle Fuller set up the Bears' winning drive, and Lions running back D'Andre Swift dropped a surefire touchdown on the final possession of the game, thereby helping the Bears hang on for the Week 1 win.
