This is not good news to report.

Chicago Bears standout pass rusher Khalil Mack is expected to be out against the 49ers this Sunday and will be placed on the injured reserve list according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

"Bears Pro Bowl pass-rusher Khalil Mack is not expected to play this week, per @MikeGarafolo and me, as the team will allow his ailing foot to rest," Rapoport tweeted. "Giving him three weeks while on Injured Reserve to heal and rehab is being discussed. A significant blow to the Chicago defense."

Mack has been dealing with this foot injury all year.

For the season, Mack has 15 tackles, including six tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, and six sacks.

Mack has not missed a game since the 2018 season.
