The Chicago Bears waived tight end Chase Allen with an injury designation on Saturday to open up a 90-man roster spot for veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis.

Allen was an undrafted free agent with the Bears.

At Iowa State, he was named second-team All-Big 12 four times ('17, '19, '20, '21), First team Academic All-Big 12 every year of his career, and a 2021 Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement recipient.

Allen caught 26 passes for 284 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2021.
