Bears News: Matt Eberflus updates several key injuries

by - Senior Editor -

Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus shared a few injury updates with this team on Monday during his press conference.

Eberflus said that Justin Fields is 'doubtful' for Sunday against the Raiders with a dislocated right thumb he suffered in the loss against the Vikings.

"Is he going to play this week? It looks doubtful right now for that," Eberflus said. "But again, we'll see at the end of the week and be able to make that known at the end of the week. That's where it is with that."

Eberflus shared that veteran right guard Nate Davis will miss Sunday's game with a high ankle sprain after being rolled up on.

“That’s going to be a week-to-week deal,” he said.

Eberflus also said that promising rookie cornerback Terell Smith will be out 3-4 weeks with mononucleosis.

Finally, he said that offensive lineman Braxton Jones is not ready to come off the injured reserve with his neck injury.

“I know his window could start," he said. "Right now, we just don't have an update. We're not there yet.”
