Bears reportedly re-signing quarterback Nathan Peterman

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Bears have made an important move in their quarterback room, re-signing veteran QB Nate Peterman for his second season with the team according to multiple reports including NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.

A valuable presence in the locker room and on the field, Peterman is entering his seventh season in the NFL and is expected to provide depth and experience to the Bears' quarterback group.

Peterman first joined the Bears in 2022 as a backup to starting quarterback Justin Fields. While he didn't see much action on the field, he quickly became a respected figure in the locker room, providing leadership and guidance to his younger teammates.

He completed 14 out of 25 passes for 139 yards with a touchdown and an interception last season.

For his NFL career, he has completed 85 out of 160 passes for 712 yards with four touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

With Fields expected to be the team's starter again this season, Peterman's role on the field may once again be limited. However, his experience and knowledge of the game are invaluable assets for a team looking to develop a young quarterback and build a winning culture.
