Vegas odds for Bears-Vikings

by - Correspondent -

This game has a lot of implications. As a division matchup, it is already of heightened importance, but it is also a competition of who will be last in the division and who will tie the Green Bay Packers at two wins.

The Bears are coming off of their first win of the season, while the Vikings are coming off of their fourth loss of the season. They lost their top receiver, Justin Jefferson, for at least the next month while the Bears are potentially having players return from injuries on the defense.

Despite these facts, Minnesota is favored to win by 2.5 points and the over / under in this game is 44 points. As in every Chicago game, the over seems like a good bet. The Bears are coming off of a 40-point performance and continuing to improve on offense with the chemistry between Justin Fields and DJ Moore. Minnesota is in completely new territory as Jefferson has never missed a game in his entire NFL career up until now. Still, it seems plausible that these teams can combine for at least 45 points.

For individual player bets, the safest bet to make would probably be DJ Moore as an anytime touchdown scorer. He has five touchdowns this season. The Vikings have allowed nine passing touchdowns this season, which is the fifth-highest in the NFL. Moore seems primed to have his fourth straight game with a touchdown.

Another player that would be good for an anytime touchdown scorer would be Cole Kmet. He has scored a touchdown in each of the past two games and is second on the team in receiving yards. Historically, Kmet has also been the most productive in October. The Chicago offense has been clicking the past few weeks, so Kmet would definitely seem poised for another touchdown this coming Sunday.

Finally, you cannot bet on the Bears without betting on Fields. Given the lack of running backs Chicago will have at their disposal, down at least Khalil Herbert in all likelihood, Fields will probably be running the ball more. Further, according to BetMGM, he has hit the over on rushing yards in 12 of the last 13 games. Things have set themselves up nicely for Fields to make that 13 of the last 14.

If you are betting on the winner of this game, this is finally a game where you can feel comfortable getting on the Bears. While they are not favored to win, momentum seems like it is on their side to set up win No. 2 of the season and their first divisional win since Thanksgiving of the 2021 season.
