Vegas odds on Bears-Panthers |
This is a revenge game for wide receiver
DJ Moore. The Carolina Panthers traded him away to the Chicago Bears for the No. 1 overall pick that they used on quarterback Bryce Young. Now, Young is struggling, and Moore currently has the highest catch percentage and yards per game he has ever had in a season.
Chicago is favored to win this game by 3.5 points with an over / under of 39.5. This Thursday Night matchup is a battle of struggling teams. Carolina is coming off of a three-turnover game where they lost 27-13 to the Indianapolis Colts; 20 of those points were scored in the second quarter. The Bears had five turnovers in their loss to the New Orleans Saints. So, fans can expect this game to probably be one of the more sloppy offensive performances of the season. For the Bears, their quarterback situation is uncertain going into this game (8:15 p.m./Prime Video). Starter Justin Fields is questionable. He has not been able to play the last three games with a dislocated thumb. As a result, undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent has played in those games. While the results started well, things went downhill, especially in the fourth quarter against the Saints. This game would probably go better for Chicago if Fields is able to come back as long as he is able to grip the ball. Regardless of quarterback, bettors need to look at tight end Cole Kmet. While he was rather inconsistent for much of the season, Kmet has been a popular target the past few weeks. Against the Los Angeles Chargers two weeks ago, Kmet had ten receptions, and against the Saints, he had six receptions and two touchdowns. Therefore, he seems like a good candidate for an anytime scorer because of his reliability over the past few weeks. Another candidate for an anytime scorer is Moore. He is currently in a touchdown drought, not scoring a touchdown since the last Thursday Night Football game the Bears played against the Washington Commanders back in the beginning of October. Going against his former team, he will surely want to have a career day and get in the endzone at least once. Further, both Fields and Bagent target Moore, although Fields seems to have developed more chemistry with him. Thus, this would be a stronger bet if Fields is able to play. Running back Khalil Herbert could potentially return in this game after spending the last four weeks on injured reserve (IR). Nonetheless, back D’Onta Foreman has taken command of the backfield. The Panthers have allowed the second-most rushing touchdowns out of any team this season. With Foreman most likely being the primary back for the Bears, which could potentially be different if Herbert comes back, Foreman is a player who also seems like an interesting bet for an anytime scorer as well.
